As the month of August fades into September, I reflect on this last month of summer.
The garden was a great teacher. It taught patience and carefull watchfulness;
it taught industry and thrift; above all it taugh entire trust.
We head into my favorite season, Autumn. There is not a thing I dislike about this season.
The crisp mornings, the leaves having their magical color change,
the early morning frost sparkling in soft morning light. The smell of
wood smoke in the air, a warm woolen sweater and a wonderful quilt to snuggle into.
Perfect.
Have a wonderful week!

Lovely photos of your fall garden - or late summer. I am never anxious for fall to arrive - I love, love, love summer, the calm, soft, warm days, the lovely white puffy clouds, the long evenings ( we don't have many flies here and almost no mosquitos ) - I adore summer and wish it would stay longer. The gardens are beginning to wind down and leaves are starting to turn - oh summer, please stay and visit a bit longer.
Lovely mosaic ... mushrooms, too!
Lovely sentiments to Autumn and glorious mosiac.
I'm looking forward to Autumn as well, but kind of sad about leaving behind such pretty flowers! Beautiful mosaic, great shots!
I wholeheartedly agree with your love of autumn - my garden does not look nearly as good though and we're still waiting for cooler temps.
I love fall but hate winter and I know it's coming soon afterward..
I just took a photo of a bale of hay to use for a background or texture. WE think along the same lines!
Love your pretty photos.
Very lovely!
Fall is also my favorite season and your mosaic captured some of the upcoming excitement!
It was still very hot when we left Kingston this morning, and beautifully cool when we landed on the island....but not autumn yet!
Such a great looking mosaic ... love all the bright yellow! Especially love that gorgeous black and yellow bird.
You're heading towards Autumn ... and we're only a day away from the first day of Spring. My two favourite times of the year ... Autumn and Winter ... are over!
Dear Jennifer, All that you say about autumn is so very true. Indeed, as soon as August turns to September the very air feels different, is different, and overall there is a quiet contentment as the fever of summer slips away. I too love it.
Such a lovely mosaic!!! Wishing you a grand day! Cathy
A very pretty mosaic! Inspiring! Yes I do like Fall too, but some winters here can be just awful.....
