Mosaic Monday - Christmas Village

Hubby started collecting Department 56, Christmas in the City, pieces 20 years ago.
It started with the Fire Hall and expanded from there.
Every year a new building, villager or accessory would be added.
Nothing has been added in the last couple of years...

as it takes about 2 hours to unpack and assembly now.
It is tradition to put it up the first Sunday in Advent
and pack it away after New Years.
Please visit Mary at Little Red House to view some fantastic mosaics.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful week!

The Christmas villages are cute! We use to put some villages around our train garden when my son was younger.

Dept. 56 has beautiful pieces Jen and the display at Bradford Garden Gallery has been awesome in the past. Not sure if they still assemble it - must take them a couple of days!
Yours looks really nice.

Wow! I have always wanted to start collecting the small village but never have. Maybe this year as your mosaic has inspired me!

I so admire the Christmas Villages, and have collected a few over the years. After one move, I paired it down to just a table top grouping. Your collection is certainly special and made such a nice Mosaic....such a nice 3D Frame.

We also collect the Dept 56 villages, and my son used to volunteer to put it up every year. He's in his 4th year of college, and so I'll until he comes home for Christmas break to set it up. Thanks for the smile with your wonderful mosaic.

It's wonderful. We just got out our D56 Snow Village out today after not getting most of it out for years! I was too pooped after getting it out to put it up! Next week it's my project! Thanks for the inspiration. :) Nancy

Great shots and sharing!

Your photography is breathtaking, thank you for sharing. You've also stirred me to get out my own village. I haven't had it out for at least 11 years. Silly me. Lazy sod me.

My youngest son amassed a huge collection of Snow Village things between 5th and 8th grade. He saw a friend's mother's Christmas display and decided that he'd spend all his allowance and gift money to buy pieces. He'd save up a couple hundred dollars and then ask me to take him to the local Dept 56 retailer. Now he has a dowry!

What a GREAT mosaic, Jen!! My DD has almost all the same Dept. 56 collection & I know what a chore it is to assemble. It looks SO pretty though when complete!

Glad to read your Dad is doing better. It was 1 yr. ago TODAY that my DH had his ♥ attack. I'll never forget the awful stress of that day/week/month/year!!!!

Hugs,
Rett
