Mosaic Monday - Christmas Village

Hubby started collecting Department 56, Christmas in the City, pieces 20 years ago.
It started with the Fire Hall and expanded from there.
Every year a new building, villager or accessory would be added.
Nothing has been added in the last couple of years...

as it takes about 2 hours to unpack and assembly now.
It is tradition to put it up the first Sunday in Advent
and pack it away after New Years.
Please visit Mary at Little Red House to view some fantastic mosaics.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful week!

An Update

Sorry I have not been visiting but my life journey this last week has been so busy, trying to finish the wedding quilt, which is now on hold, as the new machine is not working. Thinking of trading it in.  The hockey Christmas quilt has stalled, no machine.

I spent most of the week at the hospital, my Dad was not doing very well for days and then today
a miracle, he has lost tonnes of the water he was retaining and his confusion has cleared.  He was heading off to get an angiogram this afternoon.  My sister-in-law and I spend most of this afternoon cleaning house and clearing areas for his walker. Everything is looking up.
I would like to thank you for all your kind words and prayers.

On a happy note, I am so excited, my youngest son has proposed to his sweetie.
 Now we have two weddings in the planning stages.
I am so lucky, the brides to be are both lovely.

I played with these pictures in Photoshop using Betty Jo's textures Sea Glass 2.

Thanks for stopping in for a visit and take care!
To my American friends, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Pink Saturday - Favorite Necklace

Welcome to Pink Saturday.
This week I thought I would show you my favorite necklace.
 It is not pink but has clear beads that pick up the colour of the garment you wear.
I am showing it with a beautiful, soft pink Pashmina my son gave me.

The necklace has a pretty grey flower and grey pearl beads,
but the clear beads have taken on a pinkish tone.

Here is a closer look of the necklace with its' pink loveliness.

Please join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound
and visit the Pink Saturday ladies.

Have a great weekend!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It very late Friday night or very early Saturday morning and I have just returned
from the hospital. My Dad phone me early this afternoon and was not feeling well.
It turns out he has had a heart attack. I would ask that you say a small prayer for him.
Thank you and take care.
Wedding Present
One of the reasons I have not been posting lately is because I have so many quilting projects that need to be finished before Christmas. This is a wedding present for a girlfriends' daughter, she is getting married one week before Christmas. I have all the straight lines quilted into the centre and wanted to do free motion on the pinwheels and guess what happens...the new Brother machine has a hissy fit and is now on its way to the shop, I spent this afternoon picking out teeny tiny stitches, 'Sigh'.  But I will not panic yet, even though it is too big for my Janome, a large double.  I have a small lap quilt waiting to be quilted and it can be done on the Janome.
If the machine is not a quick fix, do you think it is Ok to give the wedding present late?
 Thanks for stopping by and listening to me whine.
Take care and have a great day!
Mosaic Monday - Misty Morning
I set out on a journey
In the early morning dawn.
I headed eastward
At the awankening of this day.
A mist hung low
Over hills and valleys.
The soft pink hues
Hearlding the rising of the sun.
With every mile I traveled
It became more beautiful.
I received a blessing watching
This day being born.
Thank you, Lord,
For this beautiful misty morning.
For making it possible
For me to experience it.
Pink Saturday
Welcome to another Pink Saturday. This little mouse was given to one of my sons when he was born almost 30 years ago. He plays a beautiful melody when you wind the key on the bottom.
I added a texture from Betty Jo's blog called Cafe au lait.
A vintage inspired mouse?
He is perfect for today with his pink jacket, boots, ears and tiny nose.
Please join Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for more Pink Saturday.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Remembrance Day
.
Thursday, November 11 at 11:00 o'clock in the morning our country will observe two minutes of silence to honour those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.  During this time I will remember family members lost in World War II and the comrades and friends of my son, a Sapper (Combat Engineer), who died in Afghanistan.
Pictures in the mosaic: Sapper Memorial Wall at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, a field of popies (from the internet), Engineer vehicles and sunset in Afgahanistan, Military Monument in Ottawa and Soldier placing a wreath while on tour (from the internet).
Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful day!
Mosaic Monday - Last of the Garden
I have been so busy these last few weeks and have not been visiting all my blog friends as much as I would like. To get into proper slow mode for this week, I promised myself a photography excursion around the garden, even though I had to put on a winter coat, boots and gloves. It was lovely to slow down and enjoy what was left of the garden and listen to the birds twittering in the trees.
 Here are a few pictures I took.
I am linking with Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.
Thank you for stopping in for a visit and have a wonderful week.
Watery Wednesday
The trees are bare of leaves, they have been mulched and spread around the
garden, and the temperature has turned cold enough to freeze the birdbath and the pond.
I am already wishing for green leaves and babbling streams.
More watery pictures can be found at Watery Wednesday.
Have a great day!
