Pink Saturday - New and Old Quilt

Is it just me or do you find the days are rushing by faster then you can keep up.
It is time for another Pink Saturday, where has the time gone.
I have been cleaning up two residents, one being my Dads and the other my MIL.
There have been wonderful treasures unearthed from both.
I made my MIL a blue and white quilt for Christmas many years ago
and the family returned it along with this beautiful pink and white quilt.
It is very old and has been hand quilted.

They knew I would give it a good home and they are correct.
It is a beautiful addition to my collectioin.

A closer view of the quilting.

I am joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday.
Visit the other pink ladies, they love having visitors.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A family treasure to be sure and who better than a dedicated quilter like yourself to appreciate it's value. Good luck in all the work you have to do. It's sometimes an overwhelming task.

Thanks for the nice comment you left me. I love this quilt. It is gorgeous. I love crochet and I am a novice in quilting but I would love to finish at least 3, one for each of my sons. It is such a treasure to pass down. Happy pink Saturday.

What a gorgeous quilt! And what a sweet way to savor your family memories. Brought back lovely memories for my senior mom and me as well, since her grandmother used to make quilts. Such treasures! Thank you for a lovely Pink Saturday visit.

This is a gorgeous quilt, and the tiny little stitches are beautiful. You do not see those anymore. When I learned to quilt that is the way we did it so I have had a difficult time learning the concept of machine quilting. In my day we did everything by hand!

How lovely, and I'm sure it has even more meaning for you since it was loved by your MIL. I know you'll take good care of it and maybe you can pass it to your own children someday. I've always wanted to quilt, but have not tried yet. My Great Aunt has quilted for years, though she recently announced that due to her age, she probably will not quilt, but she is now teaching herself how to crochet. I guess that creative gene never leaves one you get bitten by the creative bug!
