Once a month I get together with a group of quilters for a day of quilting, laughter and eating. Last year we had a block exchange using Christmas fabrics. We each made 8" star blocks in red, green, gold and combinations of the three. This year our challenge was to use the blocks in a quilt. I divided them into two groups; green and gold and red and gold.
I put a scrappy border around each block using green and gold fabric
and alternating them to make this large lap quilt.
The next quilt will be red and gold.
I have not added the scrappy borders yet, but was playing around with a layout.
I like this design, but more then likely this will change once the borders are added.
Thank you for stopping in for a visit
and have a great day.

You do such beautiful work. I'm always envious of people that quilt. I don't sew a stitch but do wonders with a glue gun. LOL Don't think a quilt would be quite the same if I tried that. ;-)
Good Evening Sweetie...
Oh my what a beautiful share this evening. I would so love to learn to quilt and I keep telling myself that I am just going to go to one of these shops and sign up. I know I would love it. It is quite relaxing to sew and what better way than to create something we can all use. I love quilts. The patterns, the colors, the textures.
A beautiful job. I can't wait to see it finished sweetie.
Hope you have a beautiful Thursday. Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry
Those blocks are beautiful....I love the green one; and will most likely love the red once you get the borders on it too....you do very nice work
I love the different combinations - quite clever.
That is a very pretty quilt Jen.
See you Friday.

I am in complete awe the talents of you and other bloggers who quilt. The blocks are lovely and the arrangements perfect, in my eyes.
Wunderschöne Arbeit und das Farbenspiel.
Bin ganz begeistert ....

Both quilts are beautiful and it would be fun to spend a day quilting with friends.

Gorgeous! Rich and lovely colors. How fun to get two quilts out of the mix :)
The Green and gold quilt is beautiful and I like the randomness of the borders. It must be great fun to get together with other quilters.
Your quilts are beautiful. I do so miss quilting, maybe one day in the near future I will do it again.

Another gorgeous creation. Wonderful.
I love them both! Can't wait to see the red/gold set with borders. :)
I love quilts and have always wanted to make one. That's one craft I haven't tackled yet. Green is my favorite color, so you know I love the green and gold one. So pretty! I'm sure the red one will be just as nice once you get it finished!
