Mosaic Monday - Water in the Garden

One of the most cooling and relaxing sounds is the sound of trickling water.
In the city it can drown out the sounds of the daily hustle and bustle of life.
It can also be a reflective surface of water, calming and refreshing the spirit.

There are no reflective surfaces here but babbling, bubbling and rushing water.
I love the soothing sound of water in my garden with a waterfall in the pond,
a bubbler feature by the patio and the many reflective surfaces of the birdbaths.
What kind of water feature do you have your garden?

hosted by Mary, to visit some beautiful mosaics
featured on Mosaic Monday.

Take care!

Hi Jen
I wouldn't be without our pond and waterfall - the sound attracts much of the wildlife visitors we enjoy. Also, there's no better place to sit with a cup of tea than beside the pond.
I have 3 birdbaths to accomodate all our winged friends here, you can never have too many of them.

I love the sound of water in the garden too. We have a couple of water fountains but we also have a brook that runs though our woods where it is so peaceful to sit for awhile.

Lovely mosaic!

Take care,
Carolyn

Oh, I love water in the garden too. It adds so much to the ambiance and attracts wildlife. I should do a post about my water feature. It's a disappearing stream, and I just love it.

Oh, you're so right! I love water. We live on a small lake and not so much sound as sight but wonderful.

I only have my hosepipe and that doesn't count as a water feature does it??? I do love the sound of water as well, but it is a lot to upkeep. I did have a small pond several years ago but spend more time cleaning it than enjoying it.

When spring arrives the pond across the way is filled with frogs and nesting mallards each year. The ditches will be filled with running water one of these months...nice to see your waterfalls.

Our fish pond is coming to life too. We had our fountain turned off until the danger of freezing is over. I have pansies out but they had snow on them this AM.

We have the two big woodland ponds, and in one of them there is a floating fountain that makes a beautiful sound. In the winter the water overflows from the upper to the lower pond, making a rushing noise over the rocks, and when the lower pond overflows, down the hill and under the road to the big stream.

Beautiful mosaic and water features. I enjoy the sound of water. We have two ponds, one is a smaller container pond. I also have a heated birdbath hooked. We are having temps in the 20's at night.

Great mosaic - I too love the sound of water. We have a large pond and bird bath that has a little girl pouring her watering can - soon it will be time to "plug" her back in!!!

A birdbath. That doesn't count, does it? I do love the sound of water and can hear it in the brook running behind our home for much of the spring and summer.

Nice mosaic. It is fun to hear water bubbling. I miss the sound of waves crashing. I do not have any water features in my yard. We do have a lot of rain so I hear that falling...
Have a good week.

I love the sound of water, too! I would love to have a little fountain, but alas, all I have at the moment is a leaky birdbath. :)

So funny you posted about this. Just yesterday the pump went out on one of my fountains. I will stop by the garden center to get another one tomorrow, because I miss it already! I have an outdoor fountain in the front courtyard, and one in the backyard as well. I love to hear the sound of the water, so relaxing! Are those photos from your garden? Lovely!

Markus

Morning, I just have one bird bath in the garden now. When we first moved in there were three fish ponds but we had the garden landscaped as we were worried about the grandchildren's safety.

We have the canal just up the road and often go for a walk to the village along there and watch the bird life, very relaxing walk.

Have a great week, Jackie in Surrey, UK.

There's nothing like moving water to make my heart go pitter patter. Reminds me of waterfalls.

Beautiful mosaic. Well -- we live on a canal when in Florida and a Lake when visiting Oregon. And when we travel, we try to get RV spots close to the water as often as we can. (I'm as lazy about water features as I am about gardening -- just loving and enjoying the beautiful work done by "others."

Beautiful water features. It's so calming to be near features like this. Pop by my blog when you have a chance to see what went on at the Edmonton Home and Garden Show.
