Pink Saturday - Spring Flowers

I hope everyone had a great week.
It has been raining here all week but the temperatures have been mild
and the spring flowers have started to bloom.
Lets' take a quick look at some pink blooms for Pink Saturday.

This is the flower from a Bergenia called Tubby Andrews.
It has variegated leaves, grows 12" tall and is tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions,
 including dry shade.

A flower bud of Helleborus orientalis (Lenten Rose),

which opens into this wonderful pink flower.
Pink Saturday is hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

Thank you for the visit and have a wonderful weekend!!

A Surprise!!

A white box arrived in the mail yesterday.
 I love presents!!
It is from Becca, a wonderful friend, at Patina Moon
Her blog is about vintage treasures, gardening, photography and mixed media designs.

The tissue paper, an old sewing pattern. Great idea, recycling at its' best.

A beautiful bag and lavender sachet.
I think the sachet will make a great bookmark.

The little bag is adorned with these wonderful flower shaped, purple buttons

 and contains this beautiful notebook.

With pretty bow in my favourite colour, green

for the garden.
Thank you Becca, I will treasure your gift.

Take care and
Blessings on this Easter Weekend.

Afternoon Tea Class

I went to a cooking class this afternoon on how to have the ultimate Afternoon Tea Party. There were 10 students in class and the teacher, Moira Sanders made everyone feel so welcome.  She is one of the authors of The Harrow Fair Cookbook.

We enjoyed three different teas; Creamy Earl Grey, Darjeeling and Barry's Irish Tea along with a large selection of sandwiches; scones with devonshire cream, lemon curd and jams; rosy meringues with vanilla bean whipped cream; millefeuille with orange curd and fresh raspberries and raspberry melting moments. After 3 hours of drinking tea and sampling all the goodies I waddled home.

I am joining Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.
Be sure to stop in for a visit.

Enjoy the week and
 thank you for coming by.

Pansies

Springs arrives to the garden and I want instant colour, but mother nature does not deliver until she is ready. So my instant colour is achieved by putting pansies in the garden and containers by the front door. Their smiling faces say welcome home. Or are they mischievous elves waiting to play in the garden?

Pansies

The pansies always make me think
Of little elves in garden places
That peer above a leaf to blink
With tiny and delightful faces.

"No eleves!" you say? How do you know
What goes on in a garden plot
When no one watches there. And so,
There may be elves, as like as not.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping in for a visit.

Mosaic Monday - Keyholes and Knobs

Another week has passed and I have been absent from blogland, again. But, I have been so busy doing the final clean up of my Dad's house, before the real estate closure. There have been countless trips to Goodwill and the dump. We only have one week left, sigh. Another busy week. Today we took a break and I have gone around the house taking pictures of key locks and  knobs on dressers.

Mary at Little Red House hosts
 the meme Mosaic Monday.
There you can see some fabulous mosaic.

Thanks for dropping in and
have a wonderful day!

Pink Saturday

These silk peonies sit on my dining room table,
I put them on a table runner I made for my Horticulture Society,
it was a door prize. They look so good together I am thinking of
making one for myself.

This posy sits in an old creamer in my bedroom.

I am dreaming of real peonies, roses and hydrangea from the garden.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
Please stop by How Sweet the Sound
and visit all the Pink Saturday ladies.

Thank you for the visit!
