Green Barn Shed

This farm is down the road from my house and I have photographed the house many times
 and thought it was time to capture the collection of barns.
 Kim's challenge this week was to use two textures, Sweetart and Water Stained Frame
were my choices for this photo.

Mosaic Monday - Lucy Maud Montgomery

My brother lives on a dairy farm an hour north of me, along the way there is a small village named Leaskdale and it has the house where Lucy Maud Montgomery lived for 15 years. I stopped today and took some pictures.

The plaque at the front reads....
In this house, the author of 'Anne of Green Gables' lived for 15 years and wrote 11 of her 22 novels including 'Anne of the Island' (1915) and 'Anne's House of Dreams' (1916). Born in 1874 at Clitlon, Prince Edward Island she was educated at Charlottetown and Halifax. From 1808 to 1911 she lived at Cavendish, P.E.I. and there began her career as a novelist. In 1911 she married the Rev. MacDonald, a Presbyterian minster and came with him to Leaskdale.  They moved in 1926 to Norval and then 9 years later to Toronto, where she died in 1942.  Mrs. MacDonald was awarded the O.B.E. by King George V in 1935.

In The Sun

This picture was taken for a photography class I am doing
at the Perfect Picture School of Photography, here.
We were to capture a flower backlit by the sun and in the rain,
which was achieved using the sprinkler.
The photo was taken after I had finished and I think the sunflower glistens in the sun.

I am joining Lisa Gordon for

I hope you are having a wonderful day!!!

A Fall Wedding

Fall is my favourite time of the year, gorgeous colours, misty mornings, a nip in the air and the smell of woodsmoke. The perfect time for a wedding. Val, the host of In a Sandbox, had her son's wedding on Saturday and I had the privilege of attending. It was beautiful.

The lovely bride, flower girls and cupcake cake.

 Groom and mother during their dance,
 bridal party bouquet, full wine glasses and the antipasto course.

Christmas Presents???

 I know, why am I thinking about Christmas when Halloween has not arrived, but I make them. This year I am doing table toppers and using the Twister pattern by Ursula Riegel, same pattern as in the photo below.

But I am going to use this fabric selection.

The pattern calls for 4 fat quarters and it will make 2 table toppers.

If you have been reading my blog for awhile you know I like to take
photographs, so I had to play a bit.

Last August I posted about a new mystery quilt I was working on.
You can find it here.

It is finished and my Son & DIL picked it for their wedding quilt.

I was surprised they would select such a bright quilt,
 but my DIL just loved it when she saw it.
There are roses with leaves quilted as an all over pattern on it.
Another UFO off the list and the wedding quilt done...Yah!!!

Mosaic Monday - Fall Splendor

Through a Woodland

I walked through an autumn woodland
On a still October day;
The transient beauty stirred my soul
In an awe-inspiring way.

The trees attired in splendor
For autumn's gala affair,
Wore dresses of red and yellow
With a regal and festive air.

The day was clear like crystal;
The sun's rays filtered through;
The sky stretched out above me-
A matchless shade of blue.

I walked through an autumn woodland
On a still October day;
The rustle of leaves fluttering down-
The breathless hush as they settled to ground,
Is haunting my memory today.
