What Are The Four Majors???

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for being absent so long from the blog. I of course bit off more then was possible for one person to accomplish during the last part of August.

Of the two courses I was working on during August only one is complete and that is the photography one called the 'The Art of Seeing' with the PPSOP (Perfect Picture School of Photography). In this course we learned all about the fours majors.

"Some of the more common compositional constants may include a decision to make your primary subject appear small and distant against the drama of the light and weather in the landscape; filling the frame, edge to edge, top to bottom with a subject; composing to include a background that calls attention to the subject or a background that serves as a contrast to the subject in front of it. Changing the point of view, either by shooting from above or at ground level are another consideration. The subject can also be taken horizontally, vertically or even diagonally.

Creating compelling images is also based on the success with order and tension of certain elements of design. Design elements that are deliberately sought out by the photographer and they are the Four Majors. These majors are Line, Texture, Colour and Pattern."

Linking up with Mosaic Monday.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!

Beautiful pictures. I'm always amazed at the pictures people take of ordinary things and make them into a beautiful, artistic picture.

Well I am going back to take another look as soon as I am done posting. There are so many ways to stretch ourselves with our photography if we think about it for a bit. Your photography is splendid.

Photography is a fascinating field. The more I do it, the more I realize that I don't know much.

Your mosaics are beautiful, full of life and colour, texture and lines!
