A Formal Affair

I Scottish Country Dance twice a week and
the 50th Tartan Ball was Saturday at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
Dress code was formal.
Dinner Menu: Spinach Salad with Roasted Butternut Squash,
Aged White Cheddar, Toasted Pecans, Pea Shoots,
with Mill St. Organic Ale and White Truffle Vinaigrette.
Sea Salt Crusted Prime Rib of Beef,
Whipped Chive Potato Mash,
Natural Jus
Special 50th Anniversary Tartan Ball Dessert
Some of the dances dated as far back as 1748.
Dancing finished around 1 o'clock in the morning, so it was nice to just take the elevator
up to our room and not have the long drive home.
My feet are still sore.

Joining Mary for Mosaic Monday.

Wishing everyone a great week!!!

I'll bet it was a splendid evening! There's lots of Scottish Country Dancing here in Victoria, but there are way more women than men, which is a bit of a problem.

This sounds like a fabulous event. How lovely that you stayed at the hotel. You must have been tired after dancing until 1'O'clock.

I've just been watching some Scottish dancing on the finale of Downton Abbey tonight--a favorite kind of dance. Glad you enjoyed this glittery occasion and that the feet weren't sore too long!

Lovely to hear about your elegant evening in a beautiful ballroom! One year a volunteer taught my grade 5 class some Scottish Country dances and the children really enjoyed learning them and performing for their parents.
