What's New in the Garden

My favorite peony in the garden has started to bloom.

Paeonia lactiflora 'Flame' has a soft reddish orange flower that ages to hot pink with yellow stamens.
It does well in full sun or partial shade.

A close up of the yellow center, what a beautiful combination.

The William Baffin Shrub Rose is also in bloom in the same garden.
I love the single flowers of peonies and roses.

Mr. Frog from the 'Frog in the Garden' post has found a home by the pond.
He looks very dapper nestled in beside this Heuchera.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Oh how I love that pink!
Our roses are a long way from blooming - it's been so cold and rainy here on the coast. Odd to chat with my son in Kingston and hear that it is steaming there - they have roses too!

My favorite color is pink. My mother had Peonies...a great long row in her garden, and people came for miles to get a little bit of her plants to grown in their gardens. I want some too! Must do this....thank you for sharing yours!

LOL! What a cute frog. ;-)
Your peony is so lovely. I really like the two toned peonies. It about matches your rose perfectly.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Your photos are beautiful. I wish I had more time (and a better camera) to create works of art like yours.

The Peony is just beautiful. The rose and it have similar coloring. The frog looks cute in his new home.

Lovely pics. My peonies are coming along, but not ready to bloom yet. Love your Baffin rose. Those explorer ones are great. I have the John Cabot one, and would like to find a place for the Henry Hudson one.
