I Need Help with Stolen Content!

I should not be surprised that one of my pictures has been stolen from my blog and placed on another. There are so many dishonest people in this world. When I find them, it makes me so sad. I had a new follower and went over to visit her site and the first post I saw contained a picture from my post on the Walled Garden of Glenarm Castle. The picture still has my logo on it.  So, please stop by http://cloudthunder-thisistheday.blogspot.com/ and check that one of your pictures or text has not appeared on this site.
How can I stop this from happening again?

It's too bad that people do this. Your work is terrific and therefore desirable. But, still yours.

How nasty.
I went and had a look at that blog - very strange, indeed.

Dear Jennifer, I find this amazing. Doubly so when you say that one of your 'Followers' has purloined one of your images. People are, or can be, extraordinary. I am so sorry and I have no idea what you can or should do.

That must have been an unpleasant surprise. I've heard others say they've had their photos swiped, plucked, downright stolen. I don't understand it. But what can be done, I wish I knew. Sorry it happened to you and shame on them!

I am sorry this happened to you.
You can set up a 'no right click' on your blog so no one can copy anything on your blog. I suggest you Google 'no right click' tutorial, to find out how to do it.
Keep smiling and have a great day :)

Hi,
My sisters told me all the time, that I must sign my picture, because a lot of peoples steal them.
Maybe I should.

I looked at the blog, and I think you could just ask them to delete the post. They were not taking credit for it being in thier garden, but as an inspiration. It could be much worse, but I TRUELY understand.

Thee is a way to make your photos protected - though I am not the one to tell you how - I just know it can be done, but don't know how to do it. Now aren't I a big help?
It is too bad that she is stealing your work and trying to pass it off as hers, but I think from seeing just a bit of her blog that she doesn't have an original piece of writing or photos in the whole blog.

I suppose you can get insistent about her removing the photo - but not sure she has the conscience to care about stealing anyone's work.

Me again - go to the offending blog - at the very top of the page is a place that says "Report Abuse" and you can at least do that much - to report that she is publishing your property. Not sure it will really make an impression - though I have heard of blogs being shut down for such things.

I do not know how to stop this. Unfortunately, if it on the web, people think that anything can be used and exploited. I am so sorry, Jennifer, that this happened to you.

Hi, so sorry to hear this. I totally understand because this happened to me to. Now, I just sign every photo even if it's time-consuming. But I know this will not even stop some people.

I try to remember to sign every photo. Such a shame that there are people like this.

If it is just the one picture I would not get so upset. Looks like it is just an example of the garden, no biggie really. I guarantee some of my Charleston pictures are somewhere else, but don't care if it isn't lots of them all together . Looks like they just wanted a picture of that one garden on there. Good luck, lots of great ideas up top, Gina

Sorry that happened. I need to check out that "no right click" option too.

Hi Jen..
I have had this happen a few times too... it makes me crazy mad. The ones I have found have been graphics not photos, one was customized and I asked her to remove it, the other I know is mine because I checked the properties, so I need to go through and write my name on things (like children).
There is a place you can check to see who's talking about you. not much help unless they say your name... but strange stuff still pops up... http://www.socialmention.com/.
Ouch on your finger, hope it's feeling better... I always fear that when I use the rotary cutter... eeek!!

Hello Jennifer,
A very nasty thing which happenned already to me.
And it was for 20 photos ! So I sent a message to this unscrupulous person and she cancelled the diaporama. I do not mind if people uses my photos if they asked the permission before but that was not the case.
Wish you a nice day

I visited the blog. Very odd. I would report the abuse. Have you heard anything back after your comment?

I am going to try to figure out the "no right click" thing.

Jennifer, I am really sorry this happened. I notice you have the copyscape button. Any recourse there?

Hi;
You can fill out an Infringement Notification for Google Blogger - start that off by clicking 'report abuse' on the top menu of your blog. I had to do that a few years back. I don't quite know how the process works but that site disappeared so I was happy with the outcome. Disabling the RSS feed also helps since the more sophisticated sites simply steal content without even visiting your blog.

Anyhoo... sorry this happened to you. I'm sure there's a compliment in there somewhere -- what with your lovely photos and entertaining blog style.

I too think you should report the blog in question, though it's an oddity, almost incoherent. I think it's a spoof/sham site, and you should also block this individual from your followers if you haven't already done so. I left a comment (anonymously, so they can't come back on me) calling them what they are: a thief.

I'm just now reading this Jen & I'm so sorry it has happened to you! I can just imagine how you feel. It makes me much more cautious about putting photos of my grandkids up. Poop! I hate people who steal!!!

I don't know how to "block" a follower...do you?

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this issue. It is so frustrating. I not only had photos taken but a whole post! Some nice lady told me about it, otherwise I would never have known. I reported it and the site was closed down. So definately report it!

Shocking. And on a blog spouting bible verses. Please let us all know if you get any response from the thief or from blogger. I'm sure we are all interested.
